The defeats means that Hull do not have any chance of escaping the drop and have been relegated to the Championship. Middlesbrough and Sunderland had already been relegated from the Premier League.

Hull’s performance and results did improve in the second half of the season, but it was too little too late.
The Tigers will find it hard in the Championship next season, but they have been in this situation before and the fans should be optimistic.
