Ex-Tottenham Hotspur star Tom Huddlestone is a big fan of the work Mauricio Pochettino has done at his former club.
Speaking to reporters in the aftermath of his side’s 3-0 defeat to Spurs, Hull City midfielder Tom Huddlestone declared that Mauricio Pochettino’s side is a better all round team than the entertaining Tottenham side that he played in under Harry Redknapp, as quoted by ESPN.
The 29-year-old midfielder spent eight years at White Hart Lane, and made 209 appearances for the Lilywhites, but despite being part of so many highly acclaimed sides, he only has a League Cup medal from the 2007/08 season to show for his time spent in north London.

And Huddlestone hinted at a potential reason why the side managed by Redknapp did not win more, suggesting that Pochettino’s Spurs are a far more organised outfit than the side he played in, when speaking to reporters, and quoted via ESPN:
“I don’t think we ever came that close. They have improved the squad definitely from last season and they came close last season. I think this team are probably a bit more organised than the good teams I played in here. Pochettino has got them playing the right way and they have got three or four different systems they can play. It all looks good for the future.”

The Tottenham team managed by Redknapp played enthralling football that was exciting to watch and had some of the world’s best players as part of their team, including Gareth Bale and Luka Modric.
They most certainly were not as good defensively as Pochettino’s side though, and although the current side is lacking the star names that Redknapp’s team possessed, they are in a far stronger position to win major honours than their predecessors.
