Dean Smith will be hoping to guide Aston Villa back to the Premier League on Monday.

Tom Hanks is seen during The Today Show broadcast taping at Indianapolis Motor Speedway on May 23, 2019 in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Tom Hanks has stated on Twitter that on Monday he will ‘bleed Claret & Blue’ as Aston Villa aim to make a return to the Premier League.

The Hollywood actor is a well-known Villa supporter and he will be rooting his team on when they take on Derby County in the play-off final.

It is fair to say that the Villa Park faithful have taken to his message pretty well as they prepare for their second trip to Wembley in as many seasons.

Dean Smith’s side will be looking to put the wrongs of last season right, but a Frank Lampard-inspired Derby will want to pile more misery on the club.

Here is Hanks sending a message to the Villa fans on his personal Twitter account:

There is no doubt that if Villa can pull off a win and end their three-year absence from England’s top-flight then the fans will without a doubt be in a party mood after the match.

But if they want to get there then the likes of Jack Grealish, John McGinn, Tammy Abraham and Tyrone Mings need to perform.

Here is a selection of Villa fans on Twitter reacting to Hanks’ Twitter message:

Smith’s side go into this game having beaten Midland rivals West Brom in a penalty shootout after they couldn’t be separated over two legs.

On the other hand, the Rams scored four goals at Elland Road to book themselves a Wembley trip in spectacular fashion.
