Tom Brady shared a lighthearted exchange with Kenneth Walker III after the Seattle Seahawks’ playoff victory, joking that he “could have used him” at Michigan.

Tom Brady, who made his name at the University of Michigan before launching his Hall of Fame NFL career, was on postgame interview duty following Kenneth Walker’s standout performance.

The former quarterback praised Walker’s three-touchdown display and joked that he wished he had the running back during his own college days in Ann Arbor.

Tom Brady connects with Kenneth Walker after playoff performance

During his postgame interview, Tom Brady congratulated Kenneth Walker on his 116-yard, three-touchdown effort that led Seattle to victory.

Before signing off, he added with a smile, “I know as a Michigan State guy, we could have used you at Michigan all those years.”

Walker laughed and responded, “Go green,” prompting Brady’s quick reply — “Go blue.”

The moment captured mutual respect between the seven-time Super Bowl champion and one of the NFL’s most promising young backs, blending a college rivalry with shared admiration for the game.

The exchange offered a rare moment of camaraderie between two generations of Michigan football icons, one a Wolverine legend and the other a Spartan standout.

A shared connection through Michigan football

Tom Brady’s lighthearted comment carried meaning beyond the joke. It reflected the bond between two of college football’s most famous programs, both built on tradition and hard work.

Brady rose through Michigan’s system with a focus on preparation and resilience, while Walker carved his own path at Michigan State, rushing for more than 1,600 yards in his final season before turning pro.

Though the rivalry between their schools remains fierce, their exchange showed a mutual respect for the mindset required to reach the top level of the sport.

The brief interaction quickly spread among fans from both sides of the rivalry, a reminder that football’s greatest connections often transcend colour and competition.

For Brady, it was a nostalgic nod to his college past. For Walker, it was acknowledgment from one of the game’s all-time greats.
