Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady has decided to call it a day – and Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane has offered his reaction.
The Buccaneers were dumped out of the NFL playoffs in the Divisional Round, losing out to the Los Angeles Rams.
In that game, the Rams were leading 27-3 and appeared to be waltzing into a Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers.
Brady, in true Tom Brady fashion, led a remarkable comeback to draw level at 27-27 – only for the Rams to hit a game-winning field goal.
That meant Brady wouldn’t be able to repeat his 2021 Super Bowl win, and he has now decided to call it quits.
Brady released a retirement letter on Tuesday, announcing that he would be ending his NFL career this offseason.
Brady was drafted out of Michigan in 2000, famously being picked 199th overall by the New England Patriots.
Going from a sixth round pick to a seven-time Super Bowl champion and five-time Super Bowl MVP, Brady is one of the greatest stories in NFL history.
Brady is now 44 and has decided to bring down the curtain on a glittering career that may never be matched.

Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane is an avid NFL fan and has regularly admitted his allegiance towards the Patriots because of Brady.
Kane took to Twitter on Tuesday night to react to Brady’s retirement letter, congratulating Brady on an ‘incredible’ career.
Kane added that he has always admired Brady’s ‘drive, passion and commitment’, even holding Brady up as the reason he began following the NFL.
Just don’t expect Kane to stay playing for Tottenham until the age of 44!
