Graeme Murty’s Glasgow Rangers lost against Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic at Ibrox in the Old Firm derby last weekend.

Graeme Murty’s side suffered a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Celtic at home in the Scottish Premiership last Sunday afternoon.
Rangers took the lead twice against Brendan Rodgers’s side, but the visiting team eventually won 3-2.
Celtic, who also ended the game with 10 men, were the better team over the course of the 90 minutes.
Former Celtic defender Boyd, who played for the Bhoys from 1992 until 2003, won the league title three times and is now an ambassador for the club, has claimed that Rangers lost the game due to overconfidence.

“The game on Sunday was as damaging a defeat as any at Ibrox for them and there are a few reasons for that,” Boyd told The Scotsman.
“There was the cockiness from them beforehand and the cheering from their dressing room after they’d been drawn against the champions in the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup.”

Title challenge over
Rangers would have closed the gap on leaders Celtic last weekend had they won, but the defeat at Ibrox has put flight to their hopes of winning the Scottish Premiership title this season.
The Gers now need to focus fully on clinching the runners-up spot in the league table.
