Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly is now personally trying to beat Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to the signing of Moises Caicedo from Brighton and Hove Albion.

According to The Times, Chelsea’s co-owners Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali have taken charge of negotiations to sign midfielder Moises Caicedo from Premier League rivals Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer transfer window ahead of Liverpool.

Liverpool have agreed a £111 million deal with Brighton, but Caicedo – who is “incredible”, according to former Anfield star and current Brighton midfielder Adam Lallana on Sky Sports in May 2023 – prefers a move to Chelsea.

The Blues are now planning to make a better offer for the midfielder, but Liverpool are still interested in Caicedo and are not walking away from a potential deal, according to the report.

Moises Caicedo now more likely to join Chelsea than Liverpool

In our opinion, Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo is now more likely to join Chelsea than Liverpool in the summer transfer window.

Brighton will surely sell the midfielder to the highest bidder.

If Chelsea are ready to pay more than £111 million and Caicedo himself wants to move to Stamford Bridge, then it is hard to see Liverpool able to bring him to Anfield.

Todd Boehly is now personally trying to get a deal done, and we know that he has a good track record of getting players he really wants at Chelsea.

After all, the American businessman got the deals for Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk done in the end.

We do not think that Caicedo is worth £111 million.

The midfielder has had just one good season in the Premier League.

We believe that the biggest winners in this transfer saga is Brighton.
