Fabrizio Romano has reported on Twitter that Arsenal will hold new rounds of talks with Brentford for goalkeeper David Raya today.
The Italian journalist has reported that Arsenal are keen on signing David Raya from London and Premier League rivals Brentford in the summer transfer window.
Romano has said that there will be a new round of talks today for the Spain international goalkeeper to switch clubs.
The reporter has added that Arsenal goalkeeper Matt Turner will leave for Premier League rivals Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window.
The USA international goalkeeper is a back-up to Aaron Ramsdale at Arsenal at the moment.
And it seems that Turner’s short spell at Arsenal is coming to an end.
Exciting David Raya update for Arsenal fans.
In our opinion, Fabrizio Romano’s update on David Raya is hugely exciting and encouraging for Arsenal fans.
It seems that it is only a matter of time before Raya becomes an Arsenal player.
That talks between Arsenal and Brentford are in the final stages suggests that a transfer could happen soon.
Raya is a very good goalkeeper who is at the top of his game at the moment.
Aaron Ramsdale is the first-choice goalkeeper at Arsenal at the moment.
That is unlikely to change rightaway.
However, Raya would provide Ramsdale with more competition than Matt Turner could.
Raya is very good with his feet and is also good at shot-stopping.
And he has a lot of experience playing in the Premier League.
If Ramsdale makes a mistake or two and costs Arsenal goals and/or points, then Raya could replace him in the team.
Ramsdale has made 147 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The English goalkeeper has kept 36 clean sheets in those games.
Raya has made 62 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The Spanish goalkeeper has kept 20 clean sheets in those matches.
