Tottenham Hotspur have been in excellent form recently.
Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld sat down for an interview with the club’s official Twitter account, and responded when asked to describe Spurs in just one word.
The 29-year-old joined Tottenham from Atletico Madrid in the summer of 2015, for a fee believed to be worth just £11.5 million, and he has since gone on to establish himself as one of Europe’s best central defenders.
Since the Belgian has been at Spurs, Mauricio Pochettino’s side have well and truly established themselves as perennial contenders for major honours both home and abroad.
The Lilywhites currently sit in third spot in the Premier League table, just five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, with a game in hand over the champions.
Tottenham’s ability to keep going until the very end has been mightily impressive in recent weeks, and Alderweireld told the club’s official Twitter account how his side’s fitness is the most important aspect of the way in which they play:
“If I were to describe Spurs with one word it would be fitness. Every game we run so much, put so much effort in. Of course you don’t play every game unbelievable, but I think every game we put our heart on the pitch and try to run and give our everything for Spurs, that’s something our team is – physical, running and doing everything for the team.”
Tottenham will need to keep going until he very end this season, if they are to have any chance of winning a major trophy.
Their two most important players Harry Kane and Dele Alli are closing in on a return, however, so it seems as thought the stars are aligning for Spurs.
