The 26-year-old Tottenham defender took over the club’s official Instagram account on Thursday afternoon.
Toby Alderweireld took to Instagram on Thursday night, running Tottenham Hotspur’s official account to send a message to fans.
And the defender chose three pictures to sum up his career at White Hart Lane so far.
Indeed, the first was the above – an image from his debut at Manchester United (despite the 1-0 loss). The second was the Belgian celebrating his first goal for Tottenham. It came against Manchester City and fans would no doubt love for him to do the same against City this weekend.
Alderweireld’s final image was the group celebrating Heung-Min Son’s goal at Watford.
The 26-year-old has made a huge difference at Spurs so far this season and supporters have genuine hope of Kevin Wimmer forming a solid partnership with Alderweireld in the absence of Jan Vertonghen.
But will he be able to contain Sergio Aguero and co at the Etihad Stadium this weekend? It could be the Tottenham back four’s toughest test yet…
