Toby Alderweireld has sent a Twitter message and some Tottenham Hotspur fans reiterated their desire to keep him.

Toby Alderweireld seems happy enough to be back at Tottenham Hotspur for now.
The Belgium centre-back has returned to Spurs training after what’s been a surprisingly quiet summer on the transfer front for Alderweireld – well, quieter than last year.
Tottenham are contractually obliged to sell the former Southampton and Atletico Madrid defender if a £25 million bid is lodged, with his contract expiring next June.
But it would appear as if nobody is willing to stump up the money for him as of yet, though a player-plus-cash deal for Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo has been mooted in recent weeks [Calciomercato].
Things could change rapidly but, for now, Alderweireld is a Tottenham player and he seems happy with that for the time being, going by his latest tweet:
Alderweireld is a very popular player among fans of the North London club, some of whom have responded to his Twitter message:
The 30-year-old played a big part in Mauricio Pochettino’s side reaching the Champions League final last season, reiterating his importance to the team, and it would be a major boost if he stays until the end of his contract, even at risk of losing him on a Bosman 12 months from now.
