It looks like Toby Alderweireld is raring to go for Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are set to kick their season off again with a visit of Manchester United on Friday.
It’ll be Tottenham’s first Premier League game since March due to the global health crisis.
And it’s already a must-win game for the North Londoners, as Jose Mourinho’s side sit seven points and four places behind Chelsea who occupy the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot.
With only nine Premier League games to go, Tottenham can’t afford any slip-ups in their pursuit of a top-four finish.
Alderweireld sent a message on Twitter last night and here’s how fans of the North London side reacted to him on Twitter:
It’s really quite important that Alderweireld, being a senior member of the side, leads by example from here on in.
Mourinho is set to lose Jan Vertonghen on a Bosman and with Juan Foyth linked away, the Portuguese only has the Belgian and Davinson Sanchez as reliable centre-back options.
And if Alderweireld isn’t at the races then it wouldn’t be great for Sanchez’s morale – and at such a key time.
