Manchester United reportedly want Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham Hotspur in the summer transfer window.

According to The Mirror, United are interested in signing Alderweireld from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
It has been reported that the Belgium international defender is rated at £75 million by Tottenham.
The 29-year-old – who earns £75,000 per week as salary, according to The Daily Star – has failed to reach an agreement over a new deal with Spurs, claims The Mirror.

Alderweireld has stated that although he has his own idea about his future, it will be Tottenham who will have the final say.
The Belgian defender told De Zondag: “I have another two years’ contract. Tottenham will decide my future. Of course, I have my own idea.”

Stay or leave?
Alderweireld is probably in a great position in this reported contract standoff. The Belgian is a very good defender, and if he has a successful World Cup campaign with Belgium, then he will get more offers.
Tottenham need to make a decision on the future of the 29-year-old. If United are willing to meet their demands, then they should probably sell him, as they will not get £75m next summer, with The Mirror reporting that he could leave for £25m in the summer of 2019 because of a clause in his contract.
