Toby Alderweireld has taken to Twitter to insist that Spurs need to keep improving after Mauricio Pochettino’s men took a point from Sunday’s North London derby at the Emirates.

It had appeared that Tottenham were well on course to secure all the bragging rights as Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane put the visitors 2-0 up heading into stoppage-time at the end of the first-half.

However, Alexandre Lacazette got one back before the break and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang equalised during the second-half to ensure that the points would be shared.

It was an enthralling game which arguably proved why the North London derby often serves up the most exciting game between bitter rivals in the Premier League, and there were chances for both teams to go on and win.

Draws away at Manchester City and the Gunners are likely to look a lot better as the campaign continues. But given that there was also a defeat at home to Newcastle United in between, it does appear that there is work to do if they are going to emulate the promise that they showed last year.
