Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Toby Alderweireld is in no rush to leave.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has issued fresh comments on his future, insisting he is happy to stay put… for now.
Alderweireld has not come to agree terms on a new deal with Spurs, and The Sun report he is a top target for Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.

The Mail reported the Belgian’s comments. Quizzed about a Tottenham stay, he responded: “Yeah, why not?’
“I have two years left on my contract. I don’t know what’s going to happen. The national team is the most important thing now.”
Is this what Daniel Levy wants to hear?
Stopping short of saying he will sign a new deal, this is the best possible outcome for Spurs chairman Daniel Levy, who does not have an obvious replacement lined up for Alderweireld at present.
The Spurs chairman has had to cash in on key players before, but in each case, Luka Modric, Gareth Bale, Kyle Walker, they have been pushing to secure a switch away from the club. Alderweireld’s case is a little different.

Alderweireld seems relaxed about the situation, as he knows there is a payday coming his way regardless, due to the release clause in his contract which comes into play next summer.
The ball is now in Levy’s court, the chairman must decide whether to sell, or let Alderweireld leave for a lower price next summer.
He has to assess how much one more season of the Belgian is worth to the club.
