Tottenham Hotspur have won seven of their opening 10 Premier League games this season.

Tottenham ace Toby Alderweireld sat down for an exclusive interview with Sky Sports, and suggested that the criticism that his side have received this season must actually be classed as a positive.

Spurs have made their best ever Premier League start, taking 21 points from their opening 10 league outings, but after Mauricio Pochettino failed to sign a single player during the summer transfer window, many are claiming that the north London outfit have actually regressed.

Tottenham are only five points adrift of league leaders Manchester City, but they will have their work cut-out, if they are to win the league title this season.

Alderweireld, though, explained why he believes that it is actually a positive sign that his team have received criticism so far this season, when speaking exclusively to Sky Sports:

“It is even more positive that they do not see it as a good start for Spurs. That is the kind of level we have reached. We are never satisfied, we always try to improve, win every game and try to take that last step that everybody is talking about.”

Next up for Tottenham is a trip to Wolves tomorrow, and Pochettino’s side will be desperate for a victory, as they look to keep the pressure up on those above them in the table.
