Tottenham Hotspur won against Middlesbrough in the Premier League at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur returned to winning ways in the Premier League at the weekend. The North London outfit got the better of Middlesbrough 1-0 at White Hart Lane, thanks to Harry Kane’s goal in the 58th minute.

Spurs had headed into the match against Boro on the back of a goalless draw with Sunderland away from home at the Stadium of Light.

The win against Boro has seen Mauricio Pochettino’s enhance their chances of catching London rivals Chelsea at the top of the table.

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld, though, does not seem to be entirely happy. Although the Belgium international is pleased with the final result, he has suggested that the team would have made it easier for themselves if they had scored one or two more goals.

“We defended well,” Alderweireld told Tottenham’s official website about the outcome. “We could have made it easier by scoring a second or third goal but it’s important just to win these games, especially with teams around us dropping points.”

Tottenham’s performance against Middlesbrough was far from impressive, but at the end of the day, three points are all the matter.
