The game was won thanks to an unlikely goal from Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama, but it was the decision of Mauricio Pochettino to play two strikers that really caused discussion.

Vincent Janssen, a summer signing from AZ Alkmaar, started as the lead front-man with Harry Kane playing behind.
The Dutchman was brilliant, although he would have been disappointed not to score, and immediately appears something of a fan favourite with the Spurs faithful.

Indeed, that is the opinion of Spurs defender Toby Alderweireld. The Belgian is quoted by De Telegraaf as having this to say about his new team-mate:
“Did you hear how the crowd reacted to him?
“That boy suits Tottenham.
“He’s the type of striker that the fans want to see here. All, physically strong and held ball.”

Janssen certainly appears to be a favourite with the Spurs fans already. The Dutchman is built for the Premier League and he also offers some perfect relief to fan favourite Harry Kane in the sriking position.
He missed a good chance to score yesterday, and had another effort well saved v Everton.
His first goal for Spurs in the Premier League looks like being a matter of time and the noise then will be deafening.
