Toby Alderweireld was among the Tottenham Hotspur stars who took to Twitter to celebrate the club’s Champions League win over CSKA Moscow at Wembley.

It did appear however, that their woes at their adopted home were set to continue as Alan Dzagoev put the away team ahead shortly after the half-hour mark.
However, Tottenham bounced back and secured a 3-1 win, with Dele Alli and Harry Kane turning the game around before an own goal completed the victory.

With their Champions League fate already sealed, the night would have surely left the squad feeling positive. They go into the New Year still in Europe, and were boosted by the comeback of Alderweireld.
The defender has not played since the draw with West Brom in mid-October, and during that time, Spurs’ form has slipped dramatically as they only won two of their last 10 in all competitions.

But he came through the final 22 minutes seemingly without an issue and will be hoping that he has done enough to return to the starting line-up for the trip to Old Trafford this weekend.
And after the game, he – along with Jan Vertonghen and Georges-Kevin N’Koudou – took to social media to comment on Wednesday’s events.
