Everton have enquired about France goalkeeper Steve Mandanda but are yet to make a formal offer, according to a report by the Sun.
The Marseille goalkeeper will be a free agent after Euro 2016 with his contract due to expire, and new Toffees boss Ronald Koeman is thought to be a fan of the 31-year-old.
Crystal Palace remain favourites for his signature however, with L’Equipe yesterday claiming that the Eagles were in advanced discussions with the stopper.
Mandanda is currently with the French squad as they attempt to grab European Championship glory but has yet to make an appearance, with Spurs keeper Hugo Lloris favoured between the sticks.
Ronald Koeman will be eager to add to his squad over the coming months as he looks to turn Everton from underachievers to Premier League powerhouses.
The Toffees boast some of the best young talents plying their trade in England and will be expecting to improve upon last season’s 11th place finish.
Whether or not the likes of John Stones and Romelu Lukaku can be convinced to remain at Goodison Park is yet to be seen however, and Koeman’s job will become a whole lot harder should his main assets be lured away.
