Jose Mourinho has opened up on one thing he’s been criticised about during his time at Tottenham while speaking to Sky Sports.
The critique in question is in regards to the ex-Chelsea manager’s activity on Instagram.
As mentioned in Sky Sports’ report, ex-players such as Martin Keown and Darren Bent recently criticised the Portuguese coach for his posts on the popular social media site.
Keown in particular described Mourinho’s post following Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Royal Antwerp as ‘childish’ as quoted by the Independent – the Spurs boss’ upload can be seen below.
However, speaking to Sky Sports today about the topic, the ex-Real Madrid boss said: ‘I am not an Instagram man in my nature. I have to be honest. I was asked by my sponsors to do it.
‘Do my players look at it and read it? I’ve no idea. The diversity of the posts makes it just good fun in the end, and people like to follow for that reason. It’s quite funny. No problem.’
In truth, there’s nothing wrong with this kind of thing in our view.
In this day and age, almost every footballer has some sort of social media account, and tend to post something regardless of whether they win, lose or draw.

It’s less common for a manager to do so, although the likes of Carlo Ancelotti and Unai Emery have Twitter accounts, so Mourinho isn’t alone in his social media antics.
We presume that whatever the Tottenham boss wants to say to his players is said in the dressing room – they really shouldn’t read too much into his posts, even more so after he said he only does them for his sponsors.
