Kalvin Phillips has been speaking to the BBC about Leeds and Crystal Palace, after the two sides drew 0-0 at Selhurst Park on Monday night.

Interestingly, the England international wasn’t too happy with Wilfried Zaha, and made a stunning accusation after full-time.

What’s the story?

Well, Phillips outright called the Ivory Coast international a diver, which isn’t very professional, in all honesty.

Speaking to the BBC, the Leeds No.23 said: “He is a good player, but we defended against him well as a team. The ref complained at us for fouling him but I think he dives a lot to be honest with you.”

Admittedly, Zaha can go down softly at times when challenged, but we’ve never once seen him hit the deck without any contact made in a bid to con the referee.

These comments are a defamation of the Crystal Palace No.11’s character, and we’re sure he won’t be happy with Phillips whatsoever.

Put aside what Phillips said for a second, and take a moment to appreciate just how good Zaha was at Selhurst Park last night.

The £130,000-a-week man absolutely tore Leeds apart, and we’re not quite sure how he didn’t add to his 12 goals this season.

As WhoScored shows, Zaha had seven shots, with five hitting the target – Illan Meslier was in fine form to deny him on numerous occasions.

The Ivorian also made three key passes, and amazingly completed eight successful dribbles – far more than anyone else on the pitch.

Additionally, Zaha won four freekicks, and also made four tackles as he didn’t shirk his defensive duties, which will please Patrick Vieira.

After such an impressive performance, it’s unfortunate that a lot of the focus will be on what Phillips said about the 29-year-old.

Nevertheless, Zaha was excellent last night, and deserves praise for his display against Jesse Marsch’s men.
