Diogo Jota has revealed that from time to time he is subjected to curse words by a certain Jordan Henderson at Liverpool.

In terms of honours, Henderson is one of Liverpool’s truly great captains and has skippered the Reds to Champions League and Premier League glory over the past three years.

Nobody becomes such an influential figure with regards to leadership without having high standards – both for himself and his teammates.

And Jota has revealed via the Anfield outfit’s official website that sometimes the North-East midfielder directs some ‘bad words’ at him.

Speaking to a documentary about the former Sunderland player – Jordan Henderson is Never Done – the Portugal international said: “To be honest, it is the first time I had a player like Jordan on the pitch – he tries to speak with you always, not always good words! He keeps you pushing forward, the role of being a manager inside the field. I know that I cannot rest for a second because he will be right up against me.”

Henderson has proven an insane bargain by Liverpool.

The Reds spent only £20 million on signing him from the Black Cats way back in 2011 and he’ll be remembered as one of their all-time great captains, given the accolades he has helped Jurgen Klopp’s side conquer.

Having learnt under the legendary Steven Gerrard, Henderson was never going to be anything other than an inspirational figure on and off the field and although he’s 32 now, no doubt he’ll be just as influential next term.
