Jamie Carragher has said on Sky Sports Super 6 that he does not think that Tottenham Hotspur will finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
The former Liverpool defender, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that Tottenham do not have the squad or the team to end up in the Champions League places.
Jose Mourinho’s side are eighth in the league table at the moment with 33 points from 21 matches, seven points behind fourth-placed and defending English champions Liverpool, who have played 22 games.
Carragher said on Sky Sports Super 6: “I don’t expect Tottenham to be in the top four. I don’t think the squad’s good enough or the team’s good enough to say that they are in the top four teams in the country, to be honest.”
Tottenham Hotspur fans should stay positive
Tottenham were bitterly disappointing against Chelsea in the London derby on Thursday evening.
One can understand why some Spurs fans are not happy at the moment. After all, the football is not great to watch, and the team are now not winning games.
However, Mourinho is a serial winner, and Spurs have some brilliant players, such as Harry Kane (who is injured at the moment) and Son Heung-min.
Spurs are not really that far off the Champions League spots, and there are still a lot of games to be played this season.
