Granit Xhaka has expressed his appreciation to Arsenal fans from Qatar for voting him their Player of the Month, as he posted on Instagram.

The 30-year-old has been in outstanding form this season, including finding his goalscoring touch, as Mikel Arteta’s side sit at the top of the Premier League table.

Xhaka told Arsenal fans on his IG ‘it means a lot’ that they voted for him, but added that ‘every single player in the squad deserved to win the award this month’.

XHAKA’S ROAD TO REDEMPTION

Given that Arsenal are fond of documentaries, after the Amazon All or Nothing series, then if any player is worthy of his own doc, then it’s someone like Xhaka.

From joining the club when Arsene Wenger was in the dugout to being handed such an important role of being club captain under Unai Emery.

All of that ended in disaster during that infamous match against Crystal Palace and that was probably the end of his career at the Emirates, or so everyone thought.

But sometimes in life, you get the real feeling of what an individual is like when they are knocked to the ground and struggling to get back up.

That exchange between Arsenal fans and Xhaka against Crystal Palace was a real body blow to the player, but he has got back up like no-one ever before.

And from being a possible disgraced player, he is now heading down the road of becoming a club legend, which is pretty remarkable.
