Ben Foster has told Newcastle United goalkeeper Nick Pope that he is quite similar to Liverpool No.1 Alisson Becker.
The £10 million (Sky Sports) man has been a revelation since joining Eddie Howe’s side, as he has been regarded as the bargain of the season alongside Erling Haaland.
So much so that Ben Foster has gone out of his way to liken Nick Pope to Alisson Becker of all goalkeepers.

The Brazilian international is widely considered as not just the best in his position in the Premier League but in the world as well.
After Liverpool beat Napoli 1-0 in the Champions League back in 2018, Jurgen Klopp said that the 30-year-old left him with ‘no words’ left after his performance, which sums him up well, as quoted by Bleacher Report.
However, Ben Foster told Nick Pope that he is perhaps that one shotstopper who shares similarities with Alisson Becker.
“I think he’s got a few similarities to you, to be honest. He’s so bold and brave. He doesn’t think about the consequences”, he said on his podcast.
“You can see he doesn’t care about the consequences. It is what it is. He’s coming for it so deal with it and that’s it, we’ll think about it afterwards.”
Nick Pope could not get a bigger compliment
Since joining the Merseyside-based club, the former Roma numero uno has gone from strength to strength to the extent that many even claim that he may be the most completely goalkeeper we have ever seen after Manuel Neuer.
There is not a single box the Reds legend does not tick and his ongoing prime could be a match for any player in his position in Premier League history.
The fact that Nick Pope has been compared to a player like Alisson by Ben Foster shows how much of a special footballer he is already.
