On-loan Fulham man Lewis Holtby was at White Hart Lane to see his parent side Spurs, as they were beaten 3-1 by David Luiz’s previous employers Benfica.
Two Premier League stars tuned in to Tottenham’s crushing 3-1 Europa League defeat against Benfica on Thursday night to support their respective former sides.
On-loan Fulham midfielder Lewis Holtby returned to his parent club Tottenham to see his side go down to a brace from defender Luisao, adding to a first-half strike from Rodrigo to leave Spurs’ hopes of progressing to the quarter-finals in tatters.
Christian Eriksen reduced the arrears with a stunning free-kick but there was precious little to cheer about for Holtby upon his comeback to the club he left on a temporary spell in January.
Holtby took to his official Facebook page to share a photo of himself and girlfriend Ann Charlotte at the game last night and wrote: ‘Cooooomeee on youuuu spurs!!!!’.
Chelsea defender David Luiz revelled in his former side’s win, however, as Benfica strolled to a win in north London which leaves them on the cusp of qualification.
On his Instagram page, he posted a picture and described the win as ‘#glorious’.
