Everton manager Sam Allarydce says a decision over Wayne Rooney’s future could be announced this week amid links with D.C United.

Everton manager Sam Allardyce has revealed the decision over Wayne Rooney’s future at Goodison Park is out of his hands and expects a final decision to be announced on Wednesday.
Rooney, 32, has reportedly agreed a £12million move to MLS side D.C United just one season on his from his return to Goodison Park.
While D.C.’s club manager Ben Olson stopped short of confirming the deal over the weekend, a move could now be imminent with Allardyce suggesting a club announcement could follow in the coming days.

“There’s no update. I said yesterday it’s not in my hands now,” Allardyce told Sky Sports News during a ‘Season Review: Managers Special.
“I’ve dealt with Wayne, and it’s moved on with his representatives and the board from here on in, which I believe may be Wednesday.”

The former Manchester United skipper scored 10 times during the 2017-18 Premier League campaign following his return to the blue half of Merseyside. While an announcement could come this week, Rooney would not become an official D.C United player until July 10, when the MLS mid-season transfer window opens.
Rooney missed Everton’s final game of the season on Sunday – a 3-1 defeat to West Ham United with a thigh injury – and was widely reported to have said goodbye to his teammates at the club’s training facilities the previous day ahead of his move to the US.
