Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer business has been questioned by many.
Speaking to reporters during his pre-match press conference, Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino offered his thoughts on Vincent Janssen’s struggles since his arrival at White Hart Lane in the summer, and insisted that the club will fully support the Dutchman as he looks to find his feet in north London, as quoted by the Evening Standard.
The former AZ Alkmaar hitman has looked way off the pace when he has played for Tottenham this season, and many pundits have already questioned whether he is cut out for the intense nature of the Premier League.
But Pochettino stood by his man, when speaking to the media, and explained how the club will continue to help Janssen improve, and reach the levels they know he is capable of, as quoted by the Evening Standard:

“He’s in a moment now where he needs love and for us to help him, and the way we can help him is to try to push him and maybe give him extra work to try to help him be fitter, to be sharp and try to recover his good feelings. He needs to be clever and try to use that to be more motivated to work, and show he was right for us when we signed him.”

The 22-year-old has still not scored from open play for the Lilywhites this term, with his three goals all coming form the penalty spot.
And with Harry Kane’s return to the side, and his ensuing fantastic run of form, Janssen now has his work cut-out to earn the game-time he needs to prove his worth to Spurs.
At the age of 22, however, he still has plenty of time to turn things around, it will just be a matter of how long Tottenham are prepared to wait.
