West Ham United coach Kevin Nolan has admitted that he ‘would love’ to return to Newcastle United in the future after building up his experience in a Premier League dugout.
Following mixed spells in charge of both Leyton Orient and a troubled Notts County, the Liverpool-born 40-year-old opted to take a step back in February 2020.
Kevin Nolan, who captained West Ham in his playing days, returned to the London Stadium as an assistant to David Moyes. It’s a decision Nolan obviously feels has worked to his benefit, telling talkSPORT (14 June, 11am) that three years as Moyes’ right-hand man has taught the former Bolton talisman plenty of lessons he will take with him in the future.

“Definitely yeah, at some point,” Nolan, who won the Conference League last week, says when asked if he would like to go back to sole management again at some point.
“Not just now. I am enjoying learning and seeing how David does it. But there will be a time when that comes. I will know (when it is the right time).”

Nolan arguably played the best football of his career in the black and white of Newcastle United. He scored 30 goals in just two seasons at St James’ Park between 2009 and 2011, including an iconic hat-trick against North East neighbours Sunderland. A performance remembered just as vividly for his ‘chicken dance’ celebration as much as his three goals.
But is Nolan dreaming of a return to his old stomping ground? He is certainly not ruling it out, though Eddie Howe, Jason Tindall and co are going nowhere any time soon with Champions League football on it’s way back to Newcastle after a 20-year absence.
“It’s a fantastic club, and I had good years there (at Newcastle),” Nolan adds. “Look, there is always an opportunity in the future.
“(If Newcastle came calling) it’s something I would love to do.”
