Darren Ambrose has backed Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool to sign Fiorentina star Sofyan Amrabat over Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United.
The former Premier League midfielder thinks that Liverpool are ‘more likely’ to be in a title race this season than Manchester United.
As a result, he has backed the sought-after Sofyan Amrabat to secure a transfer to Merseyside before the window slams shut next week, as he told the Transfer Show on Sky Sports (23/08/23 at 7:30 pm).
After a fantastic World Cup campaign in the colours of Morocco, it has seen the stock of Amrabat hit serious heights – he was recently dubbed a ‘talented boy’.
There was talk of a possible transfer in January, but nothing materialised, but now, many are pushing for the 27-year-old’s signature, with the player training on his own amid this interest.
It probably hints that he will be out of Florence pretty soon, with Ambrose sharing his thoughts on the player.

On who Amrabat should sign for: “You will have to look at who you feel is more likely to be in a title race this season,” said Ambrose.
“I would have to say Liverpool are going to be more likely pushing. Only the way Manchester United and Liverpool have started. Liverpool are building, with Manchester United, we don’t quite know.”

Big week ahead for Liverpool and Man United
These next seven or so days, before the summer transfer window slams shut, could be huge for both clubs and how they will fair this season.
It seems as though they need those extra legs, in the middle of the park, and probably elsewhere on the pitch, to give themselves real hope that they can do something, i.e. ensure they secure Champions League football, but also push for the title.
Otherwise, the doom, gloom and frustration from fans will only continue to showcase itself beyond September and it won’t bode well for results.
