Rangers striker Fashion Sakala arrived at Ibrox yesterday and was treated to the incredible sight of the Ibrox trophy room for the first time, prompting a salty response from ex-Hibs keeper Conrad Logan – and Gers fans have been quick to respond to the Irishman.
Visitors to the trophy room at Ibrox are often left amazed at the array of silverware on display ans when the Gers shared a clip of Sakala’s first glimpse, Logan took aim with a jibe over Hibs’ Scottish Cup success in 2016.
After winning the trophy for the first time in over 100 years, their third success in the Cup’s history, Hibs fans still cling on to the memory of their day in the sun at Hampden five years ago.
For Rangers fans though, Scottish Cup success isn’t quite as rare as seeing Halley’s comet, with the Light Blues having won the competition on 33 occassions.
While the Gers have had to wait over a decade since the last time they got their hands on the trophy, many Gers fans were quick to point out Rangers’ historic successes in the competition.
