Dating app Tinder is experiencing a major boost since the World Cup began.

Tourists from around the world are flocking to the USA, Canada and Mexico to watch their nations compete, but maybe leave having found love.

With lots of time to spare between games, Tinder has seen plenty of use and they are experiencing a healthy rise in app users that is almost certainly coming from football fans.

The Independent have reported that compared to June 2025, Tinder activity has risen by 15 per cent overall.

Total users are one thing but actual connections are another as there has been a 60 per cent increase in matches and 25 per cent rise in general swiping activity.

Unsurprisingly it’s the US host cities that are getting the most attention, where there has been an average increase of 47 per cent.

Monterrey, Mexico has seen the biggest spell of activity on a game day, recording an 80 per cent spike on the day of Sweden’s game against Tunisia.

It seems that domestic users are the ones who are driving the increase in numbers. The added benefit of the passport mode feature on the app also encourages supporters located elsewhere to find love.

A record-breaking number of fans at the World Cup has also helped, with millions more expected to attend games leading up to the final on 19 July.
