Timothy Weah’s bright start at Celtic is fading.

Timothy Weah made an instant impact when he signed at Celtic.

The young US star netted on his debut after coming off the bench against Airdrieonians.

Days later he did the same in the league against St Mirren.

A goal and assist a fortnight later against St Johnstone followed.

It looked like Celtic had signed a potential superstar.

Since then Weah has found it tough going.

He has played in six matches since February 2, and has no goals to show for it.

In his defence, Weah has only completed 90 minutes once. Elaborating on that, he has only started once.

Weah is getting a few minutes at the end of games to show what he can do.

But while he was previously making that work, his magic touch has deserted him.

Neil Lennon is yet to hand Weah a start, and it would be a surprise if he got the nod in the Old Firm game.

There is still time for Weah to win Lennon over. One goal off the bench against Rangers would do wonders for him.

The young Frenchman could become a big hit, but he needs more chances.

At present it does not seem like he is a priority for Celtic, which given his loan status, is understandable.
