Timothy Weah came off the bench to help Celtic beat St Johnstone in the Scottish Premiership on Sunday.
Timothy Weah has stated that it is ‘truly amazing’ being led by Celtic captain Scott Brown following their side’s 2-0 win [BBC Sport] over St Johnstone on Sunday.
The 18-year-old came off the bench to inspire his team to all three points by setting up James Forrest for the opener after 78 minutes then finishing off a counter-attack minutes before time.
Midfielder Brown played the full match and orchestrated the game from the middle of the park as Brendan Rodgers side extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership.
After the match, Weah, who changed the game following his introduction in the second-half, commented on what it is like playing under captain Brown.
“The team has been great,” Weah told Sky Sports Football during his post-match interview on 03/02/2019.
“Being led by a captain like this is truly amazing and I cannot wait to have more games under him and more games with the guys. It’s an amazing feeling [playing in Scotland with Celtic].”
As reported by BBC Sport, Weah completed a six-month loan deal to the Scottish Premiership champions during the January transfer window following his move from French side Paris Saint-Germain.
During his brief time in Glasgow, he has played four matches in all competitions, scoring two goals and supplying one assist, according to transfermarkt.
The USA international will now be hoping to provide the Bhoys with an edge during the crunch moments of the season as they aim to win an eighth straight Scottish Premiership title.
At this moment in time, Rodgers side are six points clear of second-placed Rangers in the table despite their comfortable win against St Mirren on Saturday.
