Brendan Rodgers’s Celtic reportedly want to sign Timothy Castagne of Atalanta in the January transfer window.

According to The Daily Record, Atalanta right-back Castagne is on the radar of Celtic for the January transfer window.
The 23-year-old Belgium international, who is reported to be rated at £6 million, has revealed that he fancies a move to the Premier League in England or in the Bundesliga in Germany.
Castagne has also said that he wants to leave Atalanta due to lack of first-team chances at the Serie A outfit.
The Daily Record quotes Castagne as saying: “I can see Germany and England, two competitions where it goes forward and there is less tactic than in Italy, as two competitions that attract me.”
The right-back added: “It’s my second year [in Italy] and I have to play. I do not want to have to say to myself every week: Maybe I’ll fall out of the team this week.”

Celtic move
The Premier League and the Bundesliga are much better and richer domestic leagues than the Scottish Premiership, but a move to Celtic could work out well for Castagne in the long run.
Given that the right-back is only 23 years of age, if he plays well at Celtic for two or so years, then he could earn a move to a big club in England, just like Virgil van Dijk and Victor Wanyama did.
