Michael Owen has raved about Arsenal central defender William Saliba on PremierLeague.com for his goal against Brentford in the London derby on Sunday.

The former Liverpool and Manchester United striker was impressed by how Arsenal centre-back Saliba took his goal against Brentford in the Premier League today.

The France international defender put the Gunners in the lead in the 17th minute.

England international Bukayo Saka put in a wonderful corner, and Saliba found the back of the net with a towering header

Owen was impressed by the timing of the run from Saliba for his goal.

The pundit said: “Saliba’s goal is a brilliantly-timed run, he nips in ahead of Toney and there’s no one on the back post – how many times do we see a goal go in there when it could easily be stopped? It’s a lovely deft header but the timing of the run makes it.”

Impressive

In our view, William Saliba played well for Arsenal against Brentford in the London derby on Sunday

The 21-year-old was a rock at the back for Mikel Arteta’s side and was a threat for the Bees from set-pieces.

The former Saint-Etienne youngster has scored two goals in seven appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season.

Saliba has made himself a regular at the heart of the Arsenal defence alongside Gabriel.

The youngster has been so good that Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is playing England international centre-back Ben White at right-back.
