The Real Madrid ace would be a sensational addition for Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham fans will be delighted with their club’s summer business thus far.
Mauricio Pochettino has already brought in Tanguy Ndombele and Jack Clarke, but his business appears to be far from over.
According to Spanish media outlet Mucho Deporte, Spurs are still keen on signing Giovani Lo Celso, although Real Betis do not appear to be budging on their £67 million asking price for the Argentine.
And with that in mind, now might be the perfect time for Tottenham to switch their attention to Real Madrid ace Isco.
Pochettino is a huge fan of Isco. He spoke to reporters about the play-maker two years ago, and raved about his talent, as quoted by AS:
“He is one of the best in the world. I have seen him at different clubs and his creativity is simply outside of the norm. He is at the stage now where he is fully matured. His magic is plain to see.”
The Spain international did not travel to Canada with Madrid for their pre-season tour, according to Marca, so now seems like the ideal time for Spurs to swoop in.
Marca claims that Los Blancos could be willing to sell the 27-year-old for as little as €65 million (£58 million) – an absolute bargain in today’s market, and potentially £9 million cheaper than Lo Celso.
Isco is a truly elite performer. He has racked up 48 goals and 52 assists in 277 appearances for Madrid, and he possesses all of the attributes needed to succeed at Spurs.
He possesses exceptional technique – arguably better than Lo Celso, has great vision and has a keen eye for a killer pass.
The Madrid ace can play wide left or right, in the number 10 role or even as part of a midfield three, and that kind of versatility will surely appeal to Tottenham.
Isco would be the ideal replacement for Chrstian Eriksen at Spurs, and Pochettino must not hesitate to make his move for the Spain international.
