Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, David Seaman has been chatting about Raheem Sterling’s future amid ongoing links to Arsenal.

The winger has been linked to Arsenal for quite some time, most recently by The Transfer Window Podcast who claimed that the Gunners could bring him in on loan in January.

However, Seaman has questioned whether or not City would actually want to part ways with Sterling, stating that he has an uncanny knack of popping up with goals.

What’s been said about Sterling?

Seaman questioned whether or not the Premier League champions would actually want to let the winger go.

“Do they want to get rid of Sterling? He always pops up with goals. I know people have a go at him, but he’s playing regularly now, he’s always chipping in and he times his runs really well, and that’s why you always see him getting those four-yard tap-ins,” Seaman said.

Be fools to sell

Seaman questions whether or not City would want to get rid of Sterling, and, in our view, they’d be fools to let him go.

Yes, they have the likes of Phil Foden and Jack Grealish who can take his place, but if you’re going to compete on all fronts, you need strength in depth.

Sterling is a natural goalscorer and he’s also a big-game player. Let’s not forget, this is a footballer who once scored a hat-trick in an FA Cup final and was England’s top scorer at Euro 2020.

City may not need Sterling in every single game, but if they want to compete for the Premier League, the Champions League and the FA Cup this season, he will be a massive asset.
