Storm Arwen has sent the majority of the United Kingdom into a winter wonderland, with many parts of Scotland, England and Wales experiencing heavy amounts of snowfall. And it’s affecting football.

Tottenham’s clash with Burnley at Turf Moor was postponed under an hour before kick-off due to the amount of snow Storm Arwen had produced on Sunday afternoon. And the weather phenomenon is set to last for another week or two.

Indeed, the coming days will see the first midweek Premier League games take place, with Manchester United’s match against Arsenal at Old Trafford one of the highlight fixtures. And for supporters of the north London side, they’re expecting a big performance from Kieran Tierney should it snow.

The £25m defender has become a fan favourite since his move to Arsenal. With one trait that supporters love being Tierney’s sturdiness to cold weather, with the defender ofter turning up in a shirt and shorts no matter the temperature.

Whilst Storm Arwen could see Manchester blanketed in snow for Thursday, it will likely not faze Tierney. Who last season played one of the best games of his Arsenal career in snowy conditions at West Bromwich Albion.

The fullback scored a sensational goal and kept a clean sheet as the Gunners secured a 4-0 win against the Baggies. And Tierney’s willingness to play in just shirts and shorts was admired, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles playing in both a thermal undershirt and leggings.
