Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react after it was announced that Nathan Patterson had joined Everton on a five-and-a-half year contract.
What’s the story?
Well, the Rangers fans below have been left saddened by this news.
Patterson has been at Ibrox since the age of eight, where he progressed through the ranks to make 27 first-team appearances for Rangers.
In that time, the 20-year-old has also become a regular starter for Scotland under Steve Clarke.
Patterson leaves Rangers for a club-record fee, with Everton spending £16m on the right-back.
In doing so, he leapfrogs Alan Hutton as the club’s record sale – back in January 2008, Tottenham gave Rangers £9m for the right-back’s services.
So far this season, Patterson has made 11 appearances in all competitions, showcasing his versatility by playing at both left-back and right-back.

Of course, it’s sad to see an Academy graduate leave after 12 years at Ibrox.
Patterson’s family are Rangers supporters, and he became a much loved presence in Glasgow as he helped the Bears win their 55th title.
Despite that, you cannot deny that £16m represents fantastic business.
Patterson wasn’t Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s first choice at right-back, as James Tavernier has that position nailed down.
Therefore, it would’ve been brainless to reject a club-record offer for a player who isn’t a regular starter.
Now, it means Rangers are less likely to be forced into selling other assets this summer, giving Van Bronckhorst a platform to build upon.
