As reported by The Times, Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) have decided to withdraw their proposal to buy Newcastle after the Premier League failed to make a decision after so many weeks.
The decision will have come as a huge disappointment to the St. James’ Park faithful, who must have looking forward to new owners and new investment coming in.
Saint-Maximin was arguably the best player for the Magpies this past season, with the winger turning on the style for Steve Bruce’s side.
According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old French winger made 23 starts and three substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Magpies in 2019-20, scoring three goals and providing four assists in the process.
