Rangers may be keen to bring one more attacker to Ibrox.

Rangers are hoping to keep hold of Alfredo Morelos beyond the transfer deadline, but one more forward may still be a wise move for Steven Gerrard and co.

The Gers have Morelos and Jermain Defoe in place, but have let Kyle Lafferty, Andrew Dallas and Ryan Hardie leave the club permanently and Zak Rudden on loan.

One more attacker should be targeted, as Gerrard was caught short last season with Umar Sadiq as his only striker for the Scottish League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen.

A player Gerrard knows well is Liverpool teenager Bobby Duncan, as the Reds talent is his cousin, and Rangers should at least consider a move.

The Liverpool Echo note that Fiorentina and Nordsjaelland have both failed with moves for Duncan, but Sky Sports claim he pulled out of last night’s Premier League 2 game with Southampton because he wants to go and speak to Fiorentina.

There’s growing frustration from the 18-year-old, and Gerrard should be considering a move for the talent, especially as director of football Mark Allen will even know Duncan from Manchester City.

With Defoe heading towards the end of his career, landing a top talent for the future would be an exciting move for Rangers, and their relations with Liverpool – thanks to Gerrard – may help soften their stance on Duncan’s future.

After 25 goals in 36 games for Liverpool at development levels, Duncan has shown his talent, but he now feels he’s ready to play first-team football – and he would stand a greater chance of that at Ibrox.

Rangers have missed out on Ryan Kent, but calling Liverpool to discuss a move for Duncan instead could be a great move, giving Gerrard a perfect mix of experience, talent and youth in Gerrard’s attacking options as Duncan pushes for a move away from Anfield.
