Spurs star Alderweireld is currently with Belgium ahead of their international fixtures.

Tottenham Hotspur defender Toby Alderweireld has posted a picture alongside teammate Mousa Dembele and Manchester United star Romelu Lukaku on Instagram, captioning the post “time for love”.
Alderweireld is currently on international duty with Belgium as Roberto Martinez’s side go up against Scotland at Hampden Park on Friday night, before travelling to Iceland in the UEFA Nations League on Tuesday.
Former Southampton and Atletico Madrid defender Alderweireld, 29, was linked heavily with a move to Manchester United on the summer and his future at Tottenham remains a doubt with his contract expiring on June 30 next year.
He posted a picture alongside Lukaku, who could well have been his teammate both internationally and at club level but for the defender to remain at Spurs under Mauricio Pochettino.
The 83-time international’s unwillingness to enter contract negotiations last season saw Spurs reduce his playing time, with the defender only featuring 21 times though a hamstring injury did also prevent him from playing.
This time around, though, Alderweireld has been much more involved with Spurs’ first team, playing three of the north Londoners’ four opening Premier League fixtures.
It remains to be seen if United will renew their interest in the defender in the January transfer window, and whether Spurs will manage to tie down the defender to a new deal before then.
