Rangers are being linked with a move to bring Glen Kamara to Ibrox.

Lassana Coulibaly of Rangers is seen during the Pre-Season Friendly match between Rangers and Wigan Athletic at Ibrox Stadium on July 29, 2018 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Rangers have seen Ovie Ejaria return to Liverpool early from his Ibrox loan spell, and he isn’t the only Steven Gerrard signing to go.

Gianluca Di Marzio reports that striker Umar Sadiq is set to leave in order to join Perugia on loan, and it would be little surprise to see Gerrard offload more players.

Even some more of Gerrard’s signings may be primed for the chopping block, and Lassana Coulibaly should be one player fearing for his Ibrox future.

The Mali international is currently on loan from Angers in France, and whilst he started the season superbly well, his form has nosedived since an injury in August.

Now, the 22-year-old looks a shadow of the player that first arrived at Ibrox, and will have no chance of a permanent deal with his recent performances, and it may be best if Rangers cut ties early just as they have with Sadiq, if they have no intention of keeping him long-term.

The Daily Mail report that Rangers have their eyes on another midfield in Dundee’s Glen Kamara, and bringing him in whilst letting Coulibaly go back to France could be a smart move.

For starters, Kamara is out of contract at the end of the season and could be a bargain signing, certainly available for cheaper than whatever Angers would be seeking for Coulibaly.

Add in that Kamara has already thrived in Scottish football and has dynamism as well as versatility to play deep or as a box-to-box midfielder, and he should be the top target to replace Coulibaly, if Rangers are bold enough to end his loan early.
