The Timberwolves are making another push for a deep playoff run this season.
Sitting at 15-9, Minnesota holds the sixth seed in the West, matching where they finished last season before their run to the Conference Finals.
Still, if they are going to make it back for a third straight year, they will need more out of their point guard rotation.
Mike Conley’s age is starting to show, and Rob Dillingham has not progressed as quickly as the team had hoped.
Timberwolves showing interest in young Chicago guard

Seeking a young point guard to pair with Anthony Edwards, the Minnesota Timberwolves have reportedly contacted the Bulls regarding Coby White, according to Joe Cowley.
“According to a source, Coby White has been inquired about, and time is of the essence in the Bulls making a decision.
“The source said that Minnesota is not looking to wait until February and the trade deadline to get a deal done, looking to fix the primary ball-handling situation that’s been an issue all season long for them.”
White could be exactly what Minnesota need. They have struggled with point guard depth, and his playmaking might be enough to stabilise their backcourt.
He spoke with Marc J. Spears of Andscape back in September about his ambition to become an All-Star-calibre player.
And while he has not reached that level yet since coming back from injury, he has put together some strong displays this season.
What a deal for Coby White could look like for the Timberwolves
White is averaging 22.1 points and 5.4 assists through seven games this season, shooting 43.1 percent from the floor and just over 30 percent from beyond the arc.
His three-point percentage is a concern, as are his turnovers, which currently sit at 3.0 per game.
However, even with those issues, White would still provide much-needed offensive support and playmaking for Edwards.
Cowley also reported what an early trade could look like for Minnesota:
- Timberwolves receive: Coby White
- Bulls receive: Donte DiVincenzo, Terrence Shannon Jr. and a future draft pick.
If Minnesota are set on bringing in a young guard with room to grow, then White is one of the best options available.
