Gabriel Agbonlahor has said on talkSPORT that Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez has been the worst signing of the Premier League so far this season and has made comparisons with Chelsea-owned star Romelu Lukaku.
The former Aston Villa striker has mocked Liverpool ace Nunez for his touches during games.
The talkSPORT pundit has noted that people were mocking and criticising Lukaku for his first touch when he was having bad games at Chelsea last season.
The Belgium international striker returned to former Serie A champions Inter Milan in the summer of 2022 on a loan deal from Chelsea.
Nunez joined Liverpool from Benfica in the summer of 2022.
The £146,000-a-week (AS) Uruguay international striker has scored one goal and provided one assist in three Premier League appearances for the Merseyside club so far this season.

Comparison made between Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez and Chelsea-owned Romelu Lukaku
Agbonlahor said about Nunez: “When I look at Nunez as well, I feel like even his first touch is not that great.
“We were quick to call Lukaku Timberland boots when it was trending on Twitter when he was having bad touches in games. Nunez looks like he has got two pairs of Timberland on.”
Harsh
In our view, Gabriel Agbonlahor’s criticism of Liverpool striker Darwin Nunez is harsh.
Yes, the striker has not been exactly great for Liverpool so far this season, but he is only 23.
And he has only just moved to the Premier League.
We have to give Nunez time and room to develop and should not write him off just yet.
Lukaku returned to Chelsea an established and world-class striker who was at the top of his game.
