Well-known South American football expert Tim Vickery has admitted on social networking site Twitter that he is surprised at the progress made by Everton winger Richarlison.

Vickery, who is the world’s foremost expert on South American football, made the comments during the Premier League match between Arsenal and Everton at the Emirates Stadium in North London on Sunday afternoon.

The 21-year-old winger featured in the match for the Toffees, who lost 2-0 to the Gunners.

Vickery has admitted his surprise at the progress and development of Richarlison, who joined Everton from Premier League rivals Watford in the summer transfer window for an initial fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £35 million.

Richarlison is a very talented and promising young player who has played two times for the Brazil national football team.

The young winger is playing well for Everton at the moment and has established himself as a key player for Marco Silva’s side.

The 21-year-old has scored three goals in four Premier League appearances for Everton so far this season, according to WhoScored.
