Tim Sherwood has said on Sky Sports News (2:19pm, January 22, 2022) that Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Adama Traore could be devastating for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Tottenham manager worked with Traore when he was in charge of Aston Villa.

The Sky Sports pundit believes that Traore’s development has stopped, but he thinks that the 25-year-old could be devastating for Tottenham under Antonio Conte as a right wing-back.

The Athletic have reported that Tottenham are confident of securing the services of Traore for £20 million in the January transfer window.

Conte reportedly wants to sign the former Barcelona winger to play as a right wing-back.

Sherwood said about Traore on Sky Sports News (2:19pm, January 22, 2022): “There’s not a team in the Premier League who wouldn’t want Adama Traore in their ranks.

“His development has stopped. He needs a manager who demands it. I think Antonio Conte is that man.

“I think he could find a route for him, perhaps as a wing-back. He would be devastating with the pace that he has. If he has grass in front of him, then no one can catch him.”

Adama Traore could be a bargain for Tottenham

In our view, for £20 million, Traore could prove to be a bargain for Tottenham in the January transfer window.

Yes, we know that the winger does not score enough goals and does not provide too many assists.

What we cannot ignore is that Traore has blistering pace and is very threatening in one-v-ones.

Playing as a wing-back could help Traore as well.

The winger could be able to showcase his pace and strength, and Conte could make him better with his finishing as well.

Conte took Romelu Lukaku and Victor Moses to another level, and he could do the same with Traore.
