Tim Sherwood has told The Analysis Show that Tottenham Hotspur attacker Son Heung-min is one of the “most-underrated” players he has seen over the last few years. Son sparkled on Saturday, against Manchester City.

Son, 29, has been on fire once again this season, in a Tottenham side that are proving to be inconsistent. In his 29 appearances for the North London club, the South Korea skipper has had a hand in 17 goals for Spurs.

While Harry Kane’s future continued to be discussed on a regular basis, Son signed a new deal in the summer – committing his future to the club until 2025. On Saturday, he laid on two assists as City beat Manchester City 3-2.

He laid off Dejan Kulusevski to get the first after four minutes, before chipping a beautiful cross into Kane – who was impeccable with his finish. Sherwood thinks that Son is one of the most-underrated players about.

“Son is the most-underrated player I’ve seen for a very long time in the Premier League. The kid is a superstar. A wonderful player, top draw, he could play anywhere, for any team in the Premier League,” Sherwood said.

Sherwood on Son: Tottenham star perfect in Manchester City win

There is a reason Kane got the plaudits on Saturday evening. The England skipper produced one of his best performances in a Tottenham shirt – let alone this season. He looked every penny of his £150million price tag.

But Son was just as effective. He might have lost the ball a bit more, and was tasked with playing slightly more defensively on the left, but his end product is sensational. When there is a chance, he makes an impact.

He could have gone for glory as Ederson approached him – but he is a team player, setting up Kulusevski to finish. He could have shot when he cut inside, but he deceived the City defence to set up Kane. Stunning display.
